October 14 & 15, 2017Together as OneLife on Purpose, Part 5
Within each of us lies a deep desire for belonging and purpose. This weekend we seek to understand the importance of community as we continue in our series, “Life on Purpose.” We seek to answer some of the core questions we, as believers, ask about community today: Why is community important? Why does it seem so difficult to experience authentic community in our present-day context? In what ways does Jesus restore community, and what practices does He invite us into to experience community together as a church?
I ask these questions because I believe Jesus invites us into a much deeper community than many of us experience in our lives today. Join us as we learn what it means to live into this community together as a church.
God Bless,
Pastor Nathan

Discipleship - You Are Made for This

October 7 & 8, 2017Discipleship - You Are Made for ThisLife on Purpose, Part 4
In the calling of His disciples Jesus said simply, “Come, follow Me." As each disciple answered this call, he left his old way of life behind and followed Jesus learning His way of life. With every passing day, they lived together, traveled together, ate together, studied God’s Word together, and prayed together. In this daily following of Jesus, the disciples drew closer to Him, and in the process discovered more of who they themselves were created to be. This was a life altering experience for these men. Following Jesus set their lives on an entirely new course and gave them the true purpose God had intended for them. Since that time, many millions of people have answered Christ’s call to follow Him. Many people have come to know who they are as God’s children through the process we now call Discipleship. God has a purpose for your life and the process of Discipleship is key to discovering and living out this new identity. In the fourth part of our sermon series “Life on Purpose” we look at God’s purpose for Discipleship in our lives and in the life of our church. - Kap Otten, Elder

Can I Get a Witness?

September 30 & October 1, 2017Can I Get a Witness?Life on Purpose, Part 3
The Bible doesn’t provide detail about how the Apostle Peter died. It’s a commonly accepted church tradition that Peter was crucified in Rome upside-down on an inverted cross, per his request. Because he had denied his Lord, he did not consider himself worthy to die in like manner. The Bible doesn’t confirm or deny the story although we know Peter’s death was prophesied by Jesus in John 21:18-19. Peter’s denial of our Lord stands in such strong contrast to this week’s lesson about living as a witness for Christ. This week we discuss 4 Ways to be an Effective Witness for Christ from the Apostle Peter. It’s part 3 in our series: “Life On Purpose.” Pastor John
