July 22 & 23, 2017How to Handle OppositionRebuilt:Truths from Nehemiah to Build Your Life On, Part 4
There are wonderful lessons in Nehemiah. This week, we're learning a 'tough' lesson: those who live for God should be prepared for opposition. It's a 'tough' lesson because I don't know anyone who enjoys being on the receiving end of anger, ridicule, or threats from those opposed to God. Perhaps the opposition to a rebuilding project in Jerusalem long ago foreshadows the hatred our world has for believers today. Jesus said, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you” (John 15:18). This weekend we'll learn how to handle opposition from Nehemiah's fourth chapter, looking to Jesus as our ultimate example to follow! Pastor John

July 15 & 16, 2017Another Step Toward RestorationRebuilt: Truths from Nehemiah to Build Our Lives On
This week we will continue our study from the book of Nehemiah by looking at the steps he took in preparation to do the work the Lord had called him to do in restoring the walls of Jerusalem. At this point, we've seen Nehemiah come to terms with the burden placed on his heart for the Lord's people. He boldly asked the king to send him to Jerusalem; and, by the grace of God, Nehemiah was provided with everything he would need to accomplish the task. But what now? How will he know what to do once he arrives at the place the Lord has led him to? As believers, we often wrestle with this same question. As we look together at Nehemiah 2:11-20, we can learn from the steps Nehemiah took to accomplish the tasks the Lord had for him. It is my hope we will leave services this weekend more equipped with steps we can take in order to discern and pursue action wisely, in order that we may experience restoration in our lives. God Bless,Nathan

July 8 & 9, 2017Restoration In and Through UsRebuilt: Truths from Nehemiah to Build Our Lives On
This week we will continue our study in the book of Nehemiah by looking together at chapter two. Nehemiah is an incredible book about restoration and hope. It’s a book about a people who came together to share in the Lord’s great vision for their lives, both personally and as a community. I can’t imagine a better book for this season in the life of our church. We will look together at Nehemiah’s plea before the king as an example of how we can approach the Lord with confidence. In order to do this, we will look at Nehemiah 2 through the lens of the Gospel. The beauty of Nehemiah and the Gospel is that both remind us that personal and communal restoration can only come from the hand of God. The work the Lord does in each of our lives individually is meant to be shared in the Dayspring family.

July 1 & 2, 2017Rebuilt!Truths from Nehemiah to Build Our Lives On
Nehemiah is a favorite Old Testament book. In Nehemiah, we find wonderful leadership lessons, for Nehemiah was an excellent leader. It is also an excellent study on revival for a discouraged congregation as they committed their lives to a mighty task, embraced God’s Word anew, and learned to care for one another. But perhaps the greatest lesson is how God rebuilds and restores broken lives. Brokenness is all around us. Even God’s people are not immune to discouragement, especially if we have drifted from the Lord. Nehemiah reminds us of God’s promises to restore and rebuild our lives as we respond to his promises, trusting in Him day by day. We may "find opportunity" in Nehemiah - opportunities to respond in humility to God’s promises, opportunities to say “yes” to God’s calling, opportunities to serve God with renewed devotion. This 10-week study begins this weekend in Chapter 1 with the story of The Man Who Wept.
