IDENTITY: A Journey
Through Ephesians
Ephesians 2:11-22
Our country was rocked with another
tragedy this week; worshippers were murdered in their church. It appears that
the horrible shooting was racially motivated. History reveals that tensions
have always existed between various groups. Back in Bible times, a deep
division separated Jews and Gentiles. This theme is addressed in several of
Paul’s epistles and surfaces in the text we will study this weekend. I’ve
always struggled to make the distinction between Jew and Gentile vivid for
people today, but all the hateful prejudice in the current news serves as an
unpleasant and relevant connection between our lives and what we read in the
Bible. The message of Eph. 2:11-22 is that Jesus is the way we come to the
Father and he is also the way we come together. Come worship with us as we
learn about all we have in Jesus.
