Your Greatest Christian Life
July 21, 2019
Being with brothers and sisters in Christ as you worship, dig into God’s Word, and connect in community, multiplies what God wants to do in your soul. It’s an investment that pays dividends both now and into eternity. It’s how God created you to thrive!
Here at Dayspring, we’ve spent the last three months studying the Gospel of Matthew, trying to understand Jesus better. Matthew wrote his gospel because he desperately wanted his Jewish brothers and sisters to come to know Jesus as he did.
So, he wrote to help them, and us, connect the dots between the Old Testament prophecies about the promised Messiah and the fulfillment of those prophecies as seen in the life and ministry of Jesus.
We reached a turning point in our study last week. Peter, another of Jesus’ disciples, declared about Him, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!” Finally, they were beginning to understand that Jesus was more than just a good guy. More than just another prophet. We also talked about the cost of being of follower of Christ.
This week, we’ll be looking more deeply at what it means, practically speaking, to live surrendered to Jesus. How does being a Christ-follower impact you on a daily basis? How does following Him influence the choices you make, the words you speak, the attitudes you display, and the priorities you set? We’re going to see how Jesus thought we should live out our Christian faith.
How does Jesus make a difference in your day-to-day life? We want to be people whose hearts and lives communicate the love of God for all people, the way that Jesus did. We’re learning how to do that together, and encouraging one another in the process.
